Throwback Player of the Day

On this, the 10th anniversary of Tom Brady's first playoff game, a divisional round victory over the Oakland Raiders... who else could be our Throwback Player of the Day?

Adam Vinatieri
Patriots Kicker 1996-2005

The most clutch kicker in the history of the NFL did the majority of his damage in a four year span starting with the two kicks against Oakland and ending with the game clinching kick to put the Pats up 10 on Philadelphia in Super Bowl XXXIX. Undrafted out of South Dakota State, Vinatieri spent a year with the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe before being picked up by New England. He has played in five Super Bowls in all, including a loss to Green Bay in SB XXXI and a win for the Colts in XLI. Named to the Patriots all decade teams for the 90's and 2000's, as well as the 50th anniversary team and the NFL's all-decade team for the 2000's, Vinatieri has a good chance to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame when it is all said and done.
